You unlock the door to find more firelight on the other side.

You step through to find the room empty, except for a large flat rock.
Lounging on top of the rock is a Frost cat, its fur white with a blue sheen that tinkles like icicles.
Frost cats are known for being aloof and somewhat, well, 'frosty' in nature.
Rumour even has it that they can sense the good and bad in people, but that's never been proven.
